An accomplished surgeon and researcher, Paul C. Kuo, MD, brings more than three decades of experience to his role as the Richard G. Connar Endowed Chair in Surgery at the University of South Florida-Tampa General Hospital. In addition to this position, Paul C. Kuo, MD, serves the military as a member of the United States Army Reserve Medical Corps in Fort Sheridan, Illinois.
Dr. Paul Kuo received a bachelor’s degree in biology, a medical degree, and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University. He also holds a master’s degree in medical informatics from Northwestern University and a master’s degree in predictive analytics from DePaul University. Prior to joining the University of South Florida, Dr. Kuo spent seven years as the chairman of surgery at the Loyola University in Chicago and a decade as the chief of the division of general surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.
An active member of the field, Paul C. Kuo, MD, has published numerous articles and delivered hundreds of lectures and presentations on surgery, oncology, medical informatics, and other topics. He has served on the editorial board for dozens of medical journals and stands out as the former president of the Society of Asian Academic Surgeons.
